Due to the inclement weather forecast for this weekend and extending through Monday, the Gary Evans Memorial Golf Tournament on Sptember 28 has been postponded. The new tournament date is May 3, 2027.
This was not an easy decision, but tournament organizers feel it is in the best interest of everyone involved. We have consulted with Northern Spy and considered the forecast and expected course conditions. With high winds, rain and cool temperatures, the weather raises safety and comfort concerns for the golfers, volunteers and staff.
The leaders of each foursome will be contacted and asked to relay the decision to their team members. The foursomes will be included when the tournament is played next spring. Foursomes unable to play on the new date should speak to their Rotary Club contact.

$150 per individual golfer. Registration and payment for twosomes and foursomes can be made online. Event organizers will pair twosomes into foursomes. Tournament limited to 120 golfers in 30 foursomes.

Rotarian Gary Evans
Gary Evans founded Evans on the Common in Townsend. He served our country in the Marine Corp. He was a Rotarian for over 20 years.
Gary served as president of the Townsend Lunenburg Rotary and was a recipient of the Paul Harris Award. Gary was generous with his time and energy and known for his enthusiastic smile and infectious laugh. When he wasn’t helping others, he enjoyed travel, hiking and golfing with his group of buddies who call themselves “The Slugs.”
We are proud to name this tournament in honor of Gary.
